The prickly pear is an amazing fruit (derived from a cactus, hence its nickname pear-cactus!) with orange and sweet pulp. It is harvested at the end of summer, when it is red and very ripe. These ficchi from India also have “anti-aging” virtues because they are a great source of trace elements, vitamin C, carotene and fibre.
